Register a Close Corporation/Pty for income tax and obtain a tax clearance (tax clearance optional)

You have to be a registered user to submit the form below.

Registration is free and will take 1 minute. REGISTER HERE.

(Please ignore this message if you are already logged in)

Please note : A CC refers to a Close Corporation and a PTY to a Private Company.

What does it mean to register a CC/PTY for income tax?

Once a CC/PTY is registered at the Registrar, a registration document (CK1) is issued which contains the registration number. This is not to be confused with the CC/PTY's Income tax number. A registered CC/PTY needs to register with SARS and obtain an income tax number. This can be done by completing the simple form below. Note that you cannot register a CC/PTY for income tax if the CC/PTY has not been registered at the Registrar and obtained a Registration number. To register a Company at the Registrar click here.

1. How does it work?

Step 1 - fill in the form below

Step 2 - pay the R330 (R530 if tax clearance is also needed) online via credit card or any other way.

We do the rest. As soon as the business is registered for income tax at SARS you will receive an email stating the CC/PTY's  income tax number as well as the registration document. If tax clearance option was also selected it will be couriered to you with overnight.

2. What is the turnaround time?

The turnaround time to register a CC/PTY for income tax purposes is 5 -10  working days after we have received all documents from the user.If you selected to obtain a tax clearance as well 10x original certificates be send  to you within 2 days after the CC has been registered.

3. Documents needed

  1. Latest original bank statement (please make sure the statement is stamped by the bank - original stamp, the bank statement is in colour) OR an original letter from the bank (stamped by the bank) comfirming the CC's bank details.
  2. The registration document (CK1/CM1) of the CC/PTY.
  3. Copies of ALL the member(s) ID's of the CC/PTY
  4. Download the Power of Attorney form at the bottom of this page, complete and send to us.

These documents must be posted to PO Box 28845, Danhof, 9310 after you have completed the online form below.

4. What happens after the CC has been registered for income tax?

The CC/PTY will have to prepare financial statements on every year end (normally February) to enable the CC to complete the Income Tax Return (IT14). Proper bookkeeping of all transactions are necessary. It will be the duties of the members/directors to see to it that proper records are kept. For assistance or more information in this regard please contact us.
